Sep 22, 2025 – After over a year of construction, the Kenmore Police Department has moved back to its newly constructed building, located at 2395 Elmwood Avenue. The new building, designed by Trautman and Associates, provides much-needed space for the KPD, including locker rooms for its female officers and dispatchers, handicap-accessible rest rooms and a secure intake area for prisoners. Phase 1 of the project created temporary space at the Kenmore Community Center which the police department used during construction. This Phase also addressed needed parking, by gating off a portion of the municipal parking lot located next to the pool. Phase 2 of the project involved the demolition of the old building and construction of the new energy-efficient facility. The new Kenmore Police Department building also includes a large meeting room where the Kenmore Citizen Police Academy classes, and other meetings, will be held. A formal ribbon cutting will take place on October 1st.
